The Priory Art Group

This is a small group of Priory residents and friends from Abbotskerswell village, who meet in the Octagon between 10 and 12 o’clock on Wednesday mornings. These weekly meetings afford members a regular opportunity to practise their hobby in the company of friends who share the enjoyment of drawing and painting. The group is in no sense an Art Class. There is no instruction. Each member does his/her own thing in his/her own way. Some members have had lessons, others not. It does not matter. Members are helpful and encouraging to one another without being critical. The keynote is painting for fun.

It has been a regular practice for several years for the group to hold a small Annual Exhibition of members’ paintings. These exhibitions have proved to be a popular social occasion in the Priory calendar.
